§ 00 · Why BenLabs Studio

Philosophy

We don't build websites. We build the infrastructure businesses run on.

Most studios stop at the surface — a beautiful homepage, a clean brand deck, a hand-off email. We treat that as the beginning, not the deliverable. The work is only useful if the business can operate on it.

So we design and build the whole system: the site, the brand, the checkout, the client portal, the admin tooling, the automations, the archive. One considered environment, owned by you, built to still make sense in three years.

Services

What we design and build for our clients.

Seven disciplines, deployed selectively. Every engagement is priced fixed-fee against an agreed scope.

A website that carries the tone of the business as clearly as its offer. We design the argument first, then the surface.

§ 02 · How we work

From first enquiry to long-term care.

Eight stages. The same structure for every engagement — so you always know where the project is.

  1. 01

    Discovery

A short call to understand ambitions, constraints, and the shape of a good outcome.

  2. 02

    Strategy

Positioning, priorities and the architecture the work will sit on.

  3. 03

    Architecture

The blueprint — sitemap, data model, integrations, and the ownership map.

  4. 04

    Design

Editorial design that carries the tone and hierarchy of the business.

  5. 05

    Development

Considered engineering. Nothing shipped that we wouldn't hand to a peer.

  6. 06

    Testing

Structured review inside the Client OS — feedback, QA and approvals in one place.

  7. 07

    Launch

Coordinated release with clear checklists, ownership and documentation.

  8. 08

    Growth

Continued care — refinements, iterations, and support past the launch date.

§ 05
Studio Principles

The standards behind every engagement.

Six principles that shape how we scope, design, build and hand over.

§ 01

Craft

Considered typography, generous spacing, and details that reward a closer look. Nothing arrives on the page by accident.

§ 02

Clarity

One idea per surface. A clear route from arrival to action. The client always knows where they are and what happens next.

§ 03

Infrastructure

We build systems, not artefacts. Intake, delivery, ownership and archive are treated as first-class product surfaces.

§ 04

Long-term thinking

Portable stacks, documented handovers, and choices that still make sense in three years.

§ 05

Systems before shortcuts

The right system removes the same problem forever. We prefer that to solving it faster once.

§ 06

Clear communication

Written scopes, single-source updates, no ambiguity about what's next or who owns it.

§ 06
Trust Layer

How we work, what we use, and what to expect.

No fabricated metrics. Where a section is still being written, we say so.

Technologies we use
TypeScriptReactTanStackNodePostgresSupabaseCloudflareVercelTailwindFramerFigmaStripe

A considered, portable stack. Nothing exotic, nothing bound to a single vendor without reason.

How we work
  • Fixed-fee scopes agreed in writing before we begin.
  • One shared source of truth — your Client OS.
  • Structured review points, not open-ended feedback loops.
  • Full ownership and documented handover at launch.
Response commitments
DRAFTING

Response times, availability windows and support commitments are being formalised. They'll appear here — verified, not aspirational — once agreed.

Client words
"

Real testimonials from real clients will live here as engagements complete. We'd rather leave the space honest than fill it with words no one said.

§ 07 · FAQ

Considered answers to sensible questions.

Anything not covered here — the discovery call is the fastest way to a straight answer.

Fixed-fee, per project, with the scope agreed in writing before we begin. No open-ended retainers unless you want one.

Most engagements land between three and twelve weeks. We share a realistic timeline as part of the proposal — not before we understand the work.

A thirty-minute conversation. We listen, ask a few structured questions, and end with a clear next step — never a hard sell.

Fifty percent to begin, fifty percent at launch, invoiced from inside your Client OS. Larger builds can be split into milestones.

You do. Source, brand, and infrastructure transfer to you at handover, documented, with no dependency on the studio to keep it running.

Every project scope defines the review points explicitly. Feedback lives in the Client OS so nothing gets lost in email.

The private portal you're standing in front of — the same platform every BenLabs client uses to run their project from intake through archive.

You keep access to your Client OS forever. Support tickets, documents and version history stay archived alongside the project.
